TV pundit Robbie Savage has backed Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish to move to a bigger club in the not too distant future.
The 24-year-old was impressive in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United yesterday, scoring the opening goal with an impressive curling effort. After the game, Savage said he could see the likes of Chelsea making a sizeable bid for the midfielder:
“If Manchester City, Spurs or Chelsea come with a massive offer for Jack Grealish, let’s say £80m, I think he’ll go. He’s far better than Aston Villa.”
£80m would be a bit steep for Grealish, considering that he has only been back playing in the Premier League since the start of the season.
Chelsea are, though, believed to be looking for players who can play out wide. With Pedro and perhaps Willian leaving the club in the summer, the Blues will need to strengthen in that area.
Grealish generally plays off the left-flank, cutting in onto his stronger right foot. Whether he’d be a genuine option for Frank Lampard, though, may depend on how well the rest of his campaign goes.
