Latest Chelsea Injury Report For The Week: Updates On Tomori And Giroud

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori was not spotted with the rest of his teammates in training this morning raising question marks over whether he’ll be fit to face Lille tomorrow evening.

The 21-year-old has been an unused substitute in the Blues’ last two league games and it has led to speculation that he may well be carrying an injury.

Olivier Giroud also didn’t participate in training today which suggests he could also be a major doubt for the crucial Champions League game against Lille.

Chelsea’s other injury absentees are long-term issues. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is still recovering from an Achilles injury while Marco van Ginkel is building up his fitness following an extended period out with a knee problem.

Tomori’s apparent absence means the fitness of Antonio Rudiger is now of extra importance. The German has been back in full training for well over a week following groin surgery, and manager Frank Lampard says the defender is very close to making his comeback.
