CSKA Moscow striker Fedor Chalov is a target for Chelsea if their transfer ban is lifted for the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports.

Roman Abramovich is reportedly a fan of the 21-year-old and would be keen to see his fellow countryman make the switch to Stamford Bridge. Supporters on Twitter, though, are very sceptical about the move going ahead:

Chalov has had a decent season so far, but his five goals and four assists in 16 league games is nothing to write home about.

CSKA are, however, said to be ready to cash in on the forward when the window reopens, with the player possibly available for around £25m.

Chalov has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United in the past, but Chelsea’s biggest rivals at the moment are said to be Crystal Palace. The Eagles are keen on recruiting the striker after failing with a bid for the Russian last summer.
