VIDEO: Abraham Provides An Update After Being Stretchered Off In Chelsea's Draw Against Valencia

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham says he is hopeful that a scan on his hip will show he didn’t pick up a serious injury in the 2-2 draw against Valencia last night.

The Blues star caused major concern after being stretchered off just before half time at the Mestalla, but speaking in an interview after the match, the forward was optimistic that he won’t be sidelined for too long:

Manager Frank Lampard will be keeping his fingers crossed that Abraham will recover quickly. The 22-year-old has quickly become a key player for the Blues after scoring ten goals in 13 league appearances this season.

Chelsea do have a couple of options if the England international is out for a while. Michy Batshuayi replaced Abraham in the second half and the Belgian is the leading candidate to step in.

Olivier Giroud could also be considered but there is increasing speculation that he could leave Stamford Bridge. The Frenchman has only made six appearances this campaign but he may now get more game time over the coming weeks.
