In Frank Lampard’s first season in charge at Stamford Bridge, working under a UEFA transfer ban the manager had to use the plethora of young talent in the Chelsea Academy to navigate the 2019-20 season.

After seeing his youth policy succeed it enabled him to blood a number of the promising starlets in his squad with the likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic to name but a few showing that they may well be ready for the big time as they achieved a Champions League place and only lost the FA Cup final to Arsenal.

After being unable to sign players for last season Lampard has certainly made up for it for the 2020-21 season as he has spent in excess of £200 million as he has reinforced all areas of his team.

Even with the success of the youth at Chelsea, the club have added 7 new players to complete the squad and set the table for serious competition for all places. No expense has been spared to allow club legend Frank Lampard to bring the players he wants to Stamford Bridge effectively retooling the Blues for a serious run at winning big trophies assuming the manager is given ample time to implement his plans with the players.
