Wolfsburg have secured the services of highly-rated midfielder Riechedly Bazoer on a four-and-a-half year deal from Eredivisie giants Ajax.
The Netherlands international was reportedly linked with several top clubs including Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea, but has selected the Bundesliga as his preferred destination.
Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe revealed his delight at the capture of Bazoer, saying that Die Wolfe had been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old for a while now.
"We have had a close eye on Riechedly Bazoer for quite some time and we are delighted that he has opted to sign for VfL Wolfsburg, in spite of having further offers from other renowned clubs," Rebbe told the club's official website.
"He is just at the beginning of his career and we are convinced that he will make the next step in his development here with us."
Wolfsburg head coach Valerien Ismael added: "I know Riechedly Bazoer well and firmly believe in the quality he possesses. He suits our team perfectly and can help VfL get back on the right track."
